HOW IS YOUR SELF ESTEEM?
June 25th, 2006
It is so amazing how we all identify with what we do for a living!
When you meet someone new, one of the first questions you are asked is “what do you do?”
These are just two reasons why being unemployed is so difficult. It’s almost like you don’t have an identity.
A lack of self-esteem can prevent you from landing your next opportunity. Your answers will appear unsure or non-enthusiastic. Let me share a great interviewing technique with you…..
You need to think of a time in your life when you felt great, when you had a very high level of self confidence and knew you were on top of the world. Think about that day, and go back and feel exactly what your were feeling on that specific day. That is the person who needs to go on interviews.
Prospective employers know that the person they meet during an interview is the “best” they can expect from you. An interview is an audition, it is a time for you to show this person why they should hire you. Why you will be the best return on their investment! You must take your best self to the interview, no matter how down you feel about being unemployed!
Use this technique and you won’t be unemployed much longer…… Barb Bruno
